Chaine des Rotisseurs: Ritz-Carlton San Francisco
The Gonzalez Family & team members at Sonoma-Artisan Foie Gras are incredibly grateful to have been the guests of honor at the “Adieu Foie Gras” dinner on October 7th, hosted by Andre Fournier, Officier Bailli from SF Chapter. The Ritz Carlton’s Chef Nathan Beriau & his team prepared a decadent 7 course foie gras & duck dinner for the 70 guests who also enjoyed the exceptional French wine pairings. It was a time to enjoy the many preparations of the noble duck, as well as a time to reflect upon the possible extinction of this gastronomic tradition in California if the pending ban goes into effect next year.
Schramsberg 2011 Fall Club Event: International Flavor
We kicked off the season with a wonderful international tasting event in Calistoga, where food & wine pairings were offered at tables representing countries & regions that transported you from Germany to France, Spain, Italy and Thailand. Sonoma-Artisan was at the Parisian booth, where guests regaled in Junny’s exquisite Terrine of Foie Gras and our tasty duck Rillettes! These wonderful flavors were highlighted by Schramsberg’s J. Schram brut rosé, a perfect pairing for the velvety sweet foie gras!
Los Angeles Food & Wine: Downtown L.A.
Where celebrity meets celebrity Chefs… we were happy to accompany celebrity chef and caterer Mark Kearny greeting friends and long-time foie gras supporters like Chefs Hubert Keller, Graham Elliot, Christopher Kostow, Josiah Citrin, Lissa Doumani and many many more who served up a feast at the excellent gala kick-off celebration. Winery friends from Sonoma and Napa, incuding Far Niente, Duckhorn and Ferrari Carano, also delighted attendees with their specialty wines. On that note, Far Niente’s “Dolce” is another wine we love to serve with our terrines and seared foie gras!
Jewels of France: French Consulate in Beverly Hills
Our trip to L.A. ended at The Jewels of France, an event staged and catered Mark Kearny. The art of seven jewelers of great French expertise, whose craftsmanship is guaranteed by the Comité Francéclat, the French Federation of Jewelry and Timepieces, was breathtaking! Among those present were Los Angeles French Consul General , David Martinon, Sophie Gayot, Madame Chocolate, and Sonoma-Artisan Foie Gras’ Junny Gonzalez who provided the duck and foie gras for the event.
