COPIA, the American Center for Wine, Food & the Arts, hosted the Wine Country Pavilion at Infineon Raceway in Sonoma on May 31st and June 1st. Race fans, fans of vintage cars and gourmet lovers united for this fun loving event. While car racing buffs enjoyed classic cars on parade, food and wine folks were able to partake in numerous food samplings like our smooth, silky Terrine of Foie Gras. Twelve hundred people converged at Infineon’s COPIA Wine Country Pavilion for this charitable event that raised money for qualified youth organizations through Speedway Children’s Charities, the charitable arm of Infineon Raceway.

Sonoma-Artisan Foie Gras is, once again, proud to say that we are dedicated to helping to make the Napa Valley Wine Auction one of the largest contributors to charitable organizaitons in California. With a sense of community spirit we donate a generous gift of our finest foie gras for use by the excellent chefs of the Napa Valley (including Chef Ken Frank and Christopher Kostow). The beautiful Meadowood Napa Valley hosts this unprecendented charitable event from June 5-8th). Please visit www.napavintners.com for more information.
This year’s Schramsberg Cellar Club Party included a food and wine pairing event on May 31st. The party was great fun with a lively crowd tasting elegant food and wine, and guests frequently stopped by to taste our exquisite Terrine of Foie Gras. The day was breezy and cool under the mulberry trees as members of the Club enjoyed gourmet tidbits of oysters, caviar and of course foie gras from Artisan. Visitors to our table were mostly returning foie gras lovers and it was wonderful to see so many familiar faces!

The 2008 Whiskies of the World Expo was our first time appearing at this event. This delightful night of whiskey tastings was held aboard the San Francisco Belle docked at Pier 3, on The Embarcadero. We spread our delicious, silky Terrine of Foie Gras for hours, and are happy to say that we have many new foie gras lovers. This was an extremely appreciative crowd who found that whiskey might be a better pairing to our foie gras than even Port or Sauternes! To read more about this event, visit www.celticmalts.com.
The Grand Finale Event for the 2008 Mustard Festival was held on a crisp, clear night at the beautiful Mumm Napa winery in Rutherford. On hand were many of Northern California’s most prestigious wineries, fine hors d’oeuvres from several local caterers and restaurants, and our ever popular Terrine of Foie Gras. Sonoma-Artisan Foie Gras has been a favorite at this event for years and Saturday saw many of our returning foie gras fans. You can see more information on the Mumm Napa Photo Finish at www.mustardfestival.org.
The Grand Tasting event on March 1, 2008 at this prestigious gathering was truly GRAND. With some of the finest food and wine samplings from the San Francisco Bay Area, Chef Keiko Takahashi of El Paseo in Mill Valley, worked magic with our foie gras. Her preparation of Terrine “El Paseo” was inspirational. Junny was on hand to greet our long time friends and to meet new ones. Check out the La Paulee website for more details.

On Saturday, January 12, 2008, in between the torrential downpours in Northern California, we spent a lovely few hours with the fine people of COPIA. Junny’s Terrine of Foie Gras was paired perfectly with many of the 40-50 wines sampled at the event. “There were many first time terrine tasters and I enjoyed watching how they loved the taste of my terrine” said Junny Gonzalez. COPIA, located in the beautiful Wine Country, is a gathering place for vintners, chefs, gardeners, artisans and enthusiasts to explore and celebrate wine, food and the arts. Visit www.copia.org for more info.
The weekend before Thanksgiving found us rubbing shoulders with the fine people of the French American Chamber of Commerce in San Francisco. The Hyatt Regency Embarcadero hosted La Soiree, a French wine and food extravaganza. What a perfect way to kick off the holiday season with one of Junny’s famous Terrine de Foie Gras samplings! This annual benefit is always a great way to keep in touch with Francophiles from all over the Bay Area. For more info visit www.LaSoiree.org.
The fall colors of Sonoma’s Wine Country were spectacular for this year’s fall Pendulum Club Private tasting event at Cline Cellars in Sonoma. We were on hand with our Smoked Duck Breast served with an assortment of mustards and Dalmatia Fig spread. The live band and dynamic conversation made for a fun afternoon of serving our Smoked Duck Breast paired with numerous Cline Cellars fine wines. For more information visit www.clinecellars.com.
One of the perks of having Sonoma as our back yard is the wonderful opportunity we have to participate in so many food and arts events. One of Sonoma’s favorite is the Vintage Festival. On Friday night, September 28th, we were happy to be part of this year’s Patron’s Food and Wine Tasting kicking off the 110th annual Festival. Our Terrine of Foie Gras delighted hundreds of fun loving guests from all over California and beyond. Proceeds from the event provided support to organizations such as the Valley of the Moon Boys & Girls Club, Vineyard Workers Services, Hanna Boys Center, and Willmar Center for Bereaved Children.
